DESCRIPTION:
A Swiss household favorite, Gruyere is named after the village Gruyere in French-speaking Switzerland. The natural, rusty brown rind is hard, dry and often pitted with tiny holes. Slightly grainy, the cheese has a wonderful complexity of flavors - at first fruity, later becomes more earthy and nutty. At Cheese Traders, we receive Gruyere in 200 lbs wheels which are displayed in front of our cheese case.
